Fremont Transit Program

The Fremont Transit Program is a demand-response, door-to-door transit program providing transportation in Fremont. This service is available to the general public, older adults and persons with disabilities. All vans are wheelchair accessible.
The Fremont Transit Program may be utilized for medical appointments, business appointments, shopping and other trips.
Individuals wishing to use the Fremont Transit Program may call our office to schedule a ride at 402-459-2845.
FTP cannot guarantee rides and recommends riders have a backup plan in cases of FTP delay including unexpected maintenance, weather delays or other emergencies.
Ride Fares
The Fremont Transit Program recommends scheduling as early as possible, as spots fill up quickly.
Exact Change Policy
For the safety of riders and staff, the program has an exact change policy and drivers are unable to make change. Rides can pay cash at the time of ride.
Ride Passes
Ride passes are available for purchase on the 2nd floor of the Municipal Building, located at 400 E. Military Ave. Passes are not available for purchase online and cannot be purchased with a debit or credit card. Riders can also add funds to their pass by giving cash or a check directly to their driver. All passes are electronic. No physical cards will be given. Fare for rides will be automatically deducted from a Riders pass after a ride has been completed
FTP Coverage Area
The Fremont Transit Program coverage area includes the Fremont city limits and extends 2-miles beyond the city limits. All areas within the map graphic are eligible for rides. If you are unsure whether or not your address or destination qualify for a ride, please give us a call at 402-459-2845 and we will be happy to assist you.

Tarifas de Transporte

- Will the driver help me to the van?

FTP is a door-to-door service and drivers are trained to assist riders from the door to the van and inside the van. Drivers are not permitted to enter homes or destinations.
- Can the driver give change?

For the safety of our drivers and rides, drivers cannot give change or sell ride passes and do not have access to cash. Riders can place fares into the locked fare box.
Ride passes can be purchased at the office: 400 E Military Ave, 2nd floor. Ride passes come in an amounts. Ride passes are digital, and fare will be deducted off pass after ride has been completed.
- I'm running late for my pick-up - what now?

Contact the FTP office as soon as possible at 402-459-2845. Failure to do so may result in a "no show." After 3 no shows, riders may be cancelled from the program.
- Can children ride the FTP?

FTP is available for all ages. Children ages 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Passengers must comply with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration policies including safety seats. The FTP does not provide car safety seats or booster seats. The parent or guardian is responsible for providing, securing and removing safety and/or booster seats into the van.
The Fremont Transit Program Passenger Handbook and rules apply to all riders of all ages.
- I need mobility assistance in addition to what FTP drivers provide.

A personal attendant will be permitted to ride with a passenger at no cost if any of the following conditions are present: immobility, disorientation, non-comprehension, communication impairment
A personal attendant will also be permitted if assistance is needed with:
- Getting the passenger from door to the vehicle and back
- Opening doors
- Pushing wheelchair to and from the vehicle
- Transferring from mobility device to a seat
- Carrying large number of and/or heavy packages
- Communicating with the driver if passenger is unable
Any other person riding with a passenger (including parents/guardians of minors) will be considered a guest and will be required to pay full fare.
- I'm not sure if my home or destination is eligible for a ride.

Fremont Transit Program offers rides with the city limits of Fremont and includes a 2-mile radius outside of city limits.

- Can I pay or buy ride passes online?

Currently our transit software does not have online purchasing capabilities. This is something we are working toward, stay tuned for more information.
You can pay cash (FTP has an exact change policy) at the time of your ride or purchase a ride pass at our office: 400 E Military Ave, 2nd floor.
