Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Financing
PACE is an economic development tool that gives commercial property owners an alternative financing mechanism for qualifying energy conservation measures. PACE allows for long term, fixed rate financing that is secured by an annual assessment on the property. It enables long term savings for property owners and promotes the public purpose of energy conservation.
The Fremont PACE District (FPD) includes commercial properties within the city limits of the City of Fremont and within Fremont's two-mile extraterritorial jurisdiction.
PACE improvements in newly constructed buildings must provide energy savings over and above the savings built into existing building code requirements. Energy savings in retrofit projects (the rehabilitation of existing buildings) must improve upon the levels of energy consumption associated with the systems being replaced.
