Special Assessments and Nuisance Liens

Special Assessments

Special Assessments are liens against a property for paving, water, and sewer, etc. The Resolution assessing the amount to each lot will be on file with the Dodge County Register of Deeds (website link) office.

These assessments are generally over a 10 or 15 year period and earn daily interest. Every attempt is made to update the Special Assessments list frequently. The latest list is available online. If an assessment has been paid in full or has yet to be assessed, it will not appear on the list.

If you have a question regarding Special Assessments or would like a payoff amount, please contact City Clerk at 402.727.2630.

Nuisance Liens

Nuisance Liens are liens against a property for mowing, tree removal, and house demolition, etc. The Resolution assessing the amount of each nuisance will be on file with the Dodge County Register of Deeds office. These liens do not accrue any interest however the city does collect the Register of Deeds filing and release fees in order to pay off the lien. Every attempt is made to update the Nuisance Lien list frequently.

The latest list (PDF) is available online. If a Nuisance Lien has been paid in full, it will not appear on the list. Nuisance liens are done all year. If you have any questions regarding Nuisance Liens please contact City Clerk Tyler Ficken 402.727.2630.
