The Electrical Engineering Department is involved with planning, design, construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of the Transmission, Distribution and Substation Facilities for the Department of Utilities.

Responsibilities of Electrical Engineering include:

  • Coordinating, managing and scheduling of construction and repair projects
  • Emergency system restoration
  • Design of facilities
  • Developing, recommending and evaluating materials, standards and policies
  • Planning for the future

The Department uses industry standards and local, state, and federal codes and regulations to ensure the utility system is safe, reliable, and efficient.
