The Fremont Creative District has received a $100,000 grant from the Nebraska Arts Council Creative Districts Program to enhance artistic innovation and cultural tourism. This funding will help the district join the Sculpture Walk Across Nebraska (SWAN) program, supporting a two-year public art walk initiative aimed at improving walkability and providing a self-guided tour for residents and visitors.
The grant will also fund a marketing campaign to promote the sculpture walk and the vibrancy of the district. Angie Olson, District Administrator, emphasized the impact of this project in beautifying the area and attracting visitors.
The Fremont Creative District plans to launch the sculpture walk alongside the completion of the amphitheater in John C. Fremont Park by summer 2026.
Creative Districts across Nebraska aim to boost cultural and economic development through the arts. The Development Grant program supports significant cultural tourism projects, covering areas such as construction and marketing.
