The Nebraska Public Agency Investment Trust (NPAIT) is offering two $500 academic scholarships for the 2017-2018 school year. The student’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must be an elected official or an employee of a public agency, such as the City of Fremont, that is a participant of NPAIT. In addition to the City of Fremont, participants may include other cities, counties, school districts, community colleges, natural resource districts, public utilities, mental health regions, irrigation districts and other political subdivisions in Nebraska.
In addition to that requirement, the eligible applicant must be a graduating high school senior in good standing, attend a post-secondary institution within Nebraska during the 2017-2018 academic year, and fully complete the NPAIT 2017-2018 Academic Scholarship Application. The deadline for submission is Friday, January 6, 2017.
The scholarship application and more information about the process is available online at http://npait.com/scholarship.html. Applications, which include a personal accomplishments essay and a government essay, are judged by an NPAIT Board of Trustees committee.
NPAIT is a collective effort by participating Nebraska eligible public bodies to invest their temporary, surplus funds through a safe, efficient investment program. Scholarship funds are provided by Union Bank & Trust Co. and Miles Capital, Inc.
