Union Pacific Railroad presented Mayor Scott Getzschman with a commemorative Golden Spike during the 2018 John C. Fremont Days festival. The Union Pacific Railroad is significant to Fremont's existence. Fremont is one of the towns that was along the original transcontinental railroad line that connected our great nation for the first time. To read the full presentation click here. The spike will be on display in the City of Fremont Council Chambers on the 2nd floor of the Municipal Building at 400 East Military Avenue through the month of July.
